Kim is a Front Office Assistant in the Gastonia office. She has over 25 years experience in the medical field. Her experience includes office management, insurance, clinical assistant, and phlebotomy. In her spare time she enjoys days on the lake and bonfires with her husband.

Jessie graduated from East Carolina University with her Doctorate of Nursing Practice in May 2019. Prior to entering the vein world, she has nursing experience in various healthcare settings including oncology, emergency care, and orthopedics. In her time off, she enjoys spending time with her family including her newborn and traveling.

Misty graduated with her Master's in Nursing in May 2018 from Duke University. In addition to 10 years of nursing experience, as a nurse practitioner she has worked in Occupational Medicine and Neurosurgery prior to joining us here at Vein Specialists of the Carolinas. She is also a busy mom with two small children. When she does have free time, she enjoys volunteering with foreign medical missions, singing with her church choir and with Gaston Choral Society, camping, traveling, and spending quality time with her family.

Born and raised in California then having studied Health Sciences at San Diego State University, Regina comes to VSC with an associate degree in Dietetics, certifications in billing and coding and medical administrative assisting. With over 20 years of experience in the healthcare field she moved to Charlotte over ten years ago where she continues to pursue her passion of patient care.

When not spending time with her family and fur babies Regina loves to compete in pool tournaments.

Linda is the Benefit coordinator and has over a decade of experience in billing and insurance follow ups. She loves spending time with her son, family and many animals when she is not at work. She also enjoys traveling, camping and going to the beach whenever she has the opportunity.

Bethany is one of the kind voices you will hear when you call into either office location. She graduated from The University of Alabama in 2018 with a degree in Communications and Information Sciences. Bethany enjoys visiting her family on the coast of South Carolina and always looks forward to going back to her alma mater for football games. In her free time, Bethany loves to cook and bake and play with her sweet puppy.

Kendall is the Director of Marketing and Practice Promotions. She joined our team in 2019. She graduated from the University of Alabama in 2018 with her Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Business Administration. Her background is in Marketing and Advertising. She enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and dog Charlie. In her time off she loves to travel to new places.

Tena works in the front office and at the front desk in the Charlotte Office. She has over 15 years’ experience in insurance billing, insurance appeals and customer service. She lived in Elkin, NC for 23 years and is extremely proud to be the mother of a 23-year-old son who graduated from Appalachian State University. Tena loves traveling and spending time with her family, including a twin sister.

Alexis works as a Clinical Assistant in the Gastonia Office. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends going on cruises and taking trips to the mountains. She loves her sweet animals and in her free time helps animal in need as much as possible.

Larson came to VSC with over two decades of experience as a medical/surgical assistant working in family practice, emergency, nephrology, dermatology and several other specialties. After spending many years as a senior clinical consultant in electronic medical records and traveling five days a week she decided to come back to her true passion, patient care. She loves assisting our provider in surgery and caring for our patients in every aspect of their care. In her free time, she enjoys creating art, antiquing hunting and furniture repurposing, gardening with her husband and spending time with her children and five grandchildren.

Amanda has been a CNA for a total of 15 years. She started her career as a Medication Aide in 2009, then received her CNA II in 2011. She obtained all of her certifications at Catawba Valley Community College. After working over 7 years in adult corrections, Amanda was ready to travel a different road in the medical field. She joined Dr. Draughn and his team of vein specialists in February as a clinical assistant at the Gastonia office. She enjoys assisting with procedures and interacting with our patients. Amanda has a young son who is her pride and joy. She cherishes her time off to bond with him and enjoy their time together.

Mariel is a Surgical Assistant. Mariel assists both Dr Draughn and Dr Putterman with all the procedures in the Gastonia location. She joined the VSC team in 2014 when she moved from Columbia where she worked at Dr. Reynold’s vein practice. He called personally to recommend her to Dr. Draughn. Mariel stays busy in her free time. She enjoys traveling, cooking, concerts, and spending quality time with her three grandchildren.

Debbie is the Front Office Coordinator in the Gastonia office. She has worked with Dr. Draughn since 2001. Her knowledge about the practice history and continued growth at Vein Specialists of the Carolinas is a valuable part of the practice. Her hard work and dedication to VSC doesn’t go unnoticed. Debbie has been the familiar friendly phone voice to our patients for years. In her free time she enjoys going to the lake and spending time with her family and 2 grown children.

Chris is a Registered Nurse Sclerotherapist. She received her BSN from The Johns Hopkins University and worked in oncology where she mastered IV therapy and injection skills. She spent several years at a national vein center in Baltimore. There she developed her expertise as a sclerotherapist. Chris works closely with the physicians and P.A. to provide quality care to her clients. In her spare time, Chris volunteers for the American Red Cross Disaster Action Team, responding to family displacements from fire and natural emergencies. She lives in Charlotte with her husband and has two grown daughters.

Terry is a Registered Nurse Sclerotherapist with 20 years of experience treating veins. She was formerly a national sclerotherapy trainer for Vein Clinics of America. We were very happy to add her to our team in 2016. She sees new patients who have cosmetic spider veins and no leg pain. If she suspects anything more, she makes them a medical appointment and schedules an ultrasound. She brings a wealth of skills to our practice. Her “faithful followers” come back to her whenever new veins show up. Many of her patients come back annually to keep their legs looking their best. “My patients tell me that their treatment at Vein Specialists of the Carolinas has returned their ability to walk down the street, go to the mall and stroll through the surf at the beach.” Terry enjoys the outdoors, especially gardening and walking her dog.

Kat has been a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer since 2005. She was a clinical instructor for several years, loves teaching students about ultrasound. She is well recognized for vascular ultrasound expertise and specializes in venous insufficiency. She is registered in RVT, enjoys small town life, being outdoors with family hiking and exploring new places. The thing she likes best about sonography is helping patients everyday. In her free time she enjoys being a mom.

Kate has been a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer for over 12 years. Kate joined our team in 2016. She received her BA from the University of Colorado and became certified as an ultrasound technologist at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She performs leg and iliac ultrasounds while also managing the AAAHC duties for the Charlotte office where she assists Dr. Draughn with IVUS. Kate enjoys eating healthy, going to the farmers market, hiking and playing outside with the family. She is happily married with 4 children.

Geneva is the Procedure Approval and Patient Referral Specialist. When patients have vein disease requiring medically necessary treatment, Geneva works hard to get insurance approval for their procedures. If at any time you have questions about where you stand in the approval process, she can help get you the answers. In her free time Geneva enjoys spending time with family, traveling, play games (Family Feud & Hang Man) and barbecuing. When weather permits, she loves to go fishing. She finds it relaxing.

Rachel is the Practice Supervisor and has handled the billing for the last 5 years and now oversees the day to day business operations in both offices as well as payroll for the entire practice. Rachel has a positive energy and is always willing to help both the staff and patients when needed. If you have a question Rachel will find the answer. In her free time, she loves camping and kayaking with her husband and family. On a cool evening she enjoys relaxing by the firepit in her backyard."

Dr. Putterman has been a Charlotte resident for 39 years. He graduated medical school at the University of Virginia and moved to Charlotte where he completed his residency in 1980. In 1997 Dr Putterman began focusing on vein disease and in 2009 he was certified by the American Board of Phlebology. He formerly worked for Vein Clinics of America for 18 years before coming to work in the Gastonia office for Vein Specialists of the Carolinas in 2016. Dr Putterman enjoys spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
