Vein Procedures and Treatments – the “Big Picture”
Vein Specialists of the Carolinas
We Perform Thousands of Vein Treatments for Patients With Vein Disorders Every Year
All Vein Treatments Are Designed To
Help The Veins Empty The Tissues.
Some treatments destroy veins and some open them up.
This seems contradictory.
How can destroying a vein help it drain?
There are two systems of veins: Superficial and Deep:
Deep veins (inside the muscle layer) are essential to proper vein emptying. These may get blocked by clot or compressed by surrounding anatomy. These need to be opened up with angioplasty balloons and stents.
