Phlebitis usually appears as red painful knots under the skin. (See picture)
Sudden sedentary activity causes Phlebitis. During this difficult time it is important to stay active. If the Phlebitis progresses up the leg toward the groin, it can go into a deep vein and become a Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT).
